Olympus µ 5010

So! As I've may written here quite often, lately I've always wanted a digital camera. And actually ever since early 2013, I already got myself one :) unfortunately, I forgot to bring it to Bandung with me so I didn't have time to play and run-test it. But now I have it here with me! So first let me introduce you to my Olympus µ 5010

This camera originally was bought for my big brother when he moved to Aussie and said he needed a camera. So my parents bought him this digital camera. Why must Olympus µ 5010? Because this camera actually able to take shots in cold weather, even on freezing temperature this one will not break and still able to do its great job. But then my big bro got his own DSLR Canon camera and gave this Olympus digicam to me.

On Friday all the students of Industrial Engineering UNPAR (yap, my major here), were invited to the FAREWELCOME event hosted by the old council. The main event was the handover position of the Head Executive of Himpunan Mahasiswa Program Studi Teknik Industri (HMPSTI). And because this event was an important one, I took my camera with me. Sadly, I didn't get any good photo shoots! Because that was actually the first time I really used it. I didn't know about it much, so, yeah, I was quite disappointed. But! I was pretty satisfied with the camera recorder quality! The result was nice, both the image and the sound quality.

Well of course, that didn't make me want to stop. In fact, I'm intrigued to learn more about this Olympus µ 5010. And just this morning I found out that this Olympus µ 5010 actually has secret ability; it can take picture with pinhole effect and fish eye effect. Yeap. And also, the problem I had on Friday was because I didn't set the settings right. It actually already has numerous settings for

- Sport (capture fast-moving action without blurring)

- Indoor (for shooting both main subject and background indoors)

- Candle (for shooting under candlelight. Warm colors are reproduced)

- Self portrait (lets you take a picture of yourself while holding the camera)

- Sunset (for shooting setting/rising sun. Vivid reproduction of reds and yellows)

- Fireworks (for shooting fireworks at night at a  slower shutter speed)

- Cuisine (for still life photography. Vividly reproduces colors of fruit, vegetables, flowers, etc.)

- Documents (for shooting documents, etc. Increases contrast between letter and background)

- Beach &snow (for shooting snowy capped mountains, landscapes, white sand sea-scapes, etc.)

- Pet (the camera setting are optimized for taking pictures of pets or other animals)

- Portrait (for taking a portrait-style shot)

- Landscape (for shooting landscapes. vivid reproduction of blues and greens)

- Night scene (for shooting illuminated scenes at a slower shutter speed)

- Night + portrait (for shooting subject with an illuminated background at a slower shutter speed)

See? It has the whole package! I know it is not hard and quite simple to use. Well, since I like to take photos and have interest on it, this camera is just enough for me.

Because I was so excited when I found out more about it, I decided to take the camera with me to the Church. Right after the Holy Mass, I went to Borma and started my experiments. Here are the result.

Well, so that's that! I'm pretty satisfied with all the results but sure I still need to learn more about using this camera. I do realize that these effects do not produce the exact amazing pictures with the real pin hole camera nor the LOMO Fish eye, but I'm still happy with it though hehehe.. Hope I can do better photo shoots! :)

Overrated

Hari ini digelitik lagi untuk menulis post tentang yang satu ini. Gender. Perempuan dan laki-laki. Wanita dan pria. Satu makhluk berbeda jenis yang memenuhi isi dunia.


Sebenernya sih inti dari yang pengen gua tulis adalah gua gak memandang orang dari gendernya. Menurut gua everyone stands for his/herself. Ga ada tuh patokan 'yang namanya cowo tuh begini, cewe tuh begini!' Ya correct me if I'm wrong, tapi menurut gua semua orang berbeda-beda dan gender bukanlah faktor yang membedakan. Keluarga, lingkungan, pendidikan, itu yang menurut gua membentuk karakter seseorang, bukan jenis kelaminnya.


Menurut gua semua orang harus jadi orang yang pinter dan gak mengandalkan orang lain. Kita masing-masing harus jadi orang yang tough. Karena pada akhirnya, yang bisa kita andalkan cuma diri kita sendiri dan tentunya Dia Yang Di Atas. Ya yang namanya manusia itu harus punya kepintaran. Toh memang semuanya dikasih bakat dan tanlentanya sendiri-sendiri, dan patut untuk terus dikembangkan. Apalagi mumpung masih muda, masih punya banyak tenaga, ya belajarlah sebanyak mungkin, pakai waktu yang ada ini sebaik mungkin.Sekali lagi, gak peduli kamu itu perempuan itu laki-laki.


Dan karena talenta itu banyak jenisnya, hal ini berarti termasuk kepemimpinan. Hei, sekali lagi menurut gua, wanita bisa memimpin. Masa bodoh sama yang bilang perempuan lebih memakai perasaan dibanding logika. Justru pola pikir yang kayak begitulah yang membuat gender so overrated dan tentunya menipu otak.


Kamu dan aku sama. Sama-sama manusia. Sama-sama butuh makan, butuh minum. Sama-sama punya talenta. Sama-sama punya keunikan masing-masing. Gak peduli kamu itu perempuan atau laki-laki. Kamu dan aku itu teman. Kamu dan aku adalah manusia yang terus menerus berproses. Berproses dalam meraih cita-cita. Berproses dalam menjalani hidup.


So yeah, be tough be smart .

You Can Only Choose Two From These Three

Dulu setiap gua melihat gambar di atas (seringnya sih di 9gag.com), gua selalu berpikir dan berkata pada diri sendiri , "Lebay banget sih, masa ga bisa dapetin tiga-tiganya,". Tapi sekarang gua beneran berpikir bahwa ternyata pernyataan dalam gambar ini benar dan berharap penuh (ceilah berharap penuh) ketiga aspek tersebut bisa terpenuhi dalam hidup gua sekarang!


Pasalnya, semester empat ini rasanya cukup hectic ya kawan-kawan, khususnya akhir-akhir ini. Semakin dekat dengan UAS, semakin banyak tugas-tugas yang harus dibuat dan dikumpul, beserta tugas-tugas luar kampus lainnya ya. Cukup mengurus tenaga. Ralat; menguras tenaga.


Kalau udah begini, yang bisa dikorbankan hanyalah waktu tidur tersayang hahaha *nangis*. Padahal cuaca Bandung lagi adem-ademnya dan yang namanya tidur siang itu pasti nikmaaaaaaat banget. Tapi jangankan tidur siang tercukupi, tidur malampun sekarang rasanya kurang. Hidup bener-bener diisi sama kehidupan kuliah; kalo gak kelas, belajar, ngerjain tugas tugas tugas dan tugas, ya bersosialisasi.


Memang masalah utamanya adalah membagi waktu sih. Tapi...Kalau mau disamaratain semua waktunya, malah bisa-bisa ga beres ini semua kewajiban!


Jadi dari sini lah lagi-lagi gua dapet ilham, sacrifices are needed in order to achieve goals. So yeah, I have goals to achieve and I've made my sacrifices. One of mine is sleeping time, what about yours?
